WHO WE ARE
The Rescue Haven is a foster-based dog rescue serving Dayton, Ohio and the surrounding communities.
We believe rescue is about more than getting a dog out of a shelter. It’s giving them somewhere safe to land, getting them the care they need, learning who they are, and finding the home where they belong.
But our work doesn’t stop with adoption. We believe rescue works best when rescues, shelters, fosters, adopters, businesses and communities work together.
WHAT WE DO
Every dog needs something different. Our job is to meet them where they are.
01 — HEAL
From routine vetting to major medical needs, we make sure our dogs get the care they need to move forward.
02 — FOSTER
Our dogs live in foster homes where they can decompress, learn, heal and show us who they really are.
03 — ADVOCATE
We work alongside shelters, rescues and our community to help dogs get the resources, visibility and chances they deserve.
04 — ADOPT
We take the time to find the right fit — not just the first one — so our dogs have the best chance at a forever home.

JUST HOMES.
The Rescue Haven is completely foster-based. Our dogs live in homes with foster families while they wait for their own.
That gives them time to decompress and gives us the chance to learn the things that matter — how they live, what they love, what they're working on and what kind of home will help them thrive.
It also means something pretty important: the number of dogs we can save depends on the number of people willing to foster.
RESCUE IS A COMMUNITY EFFORT.
We can’t do this alone — and we don’t think rescue was ever meant to work that way.
We believe in working alongside shelters, other rescues, veterinarians, businesses, volunteers, fosters, adopters and the people in our community.
Sometimes helping means taking in a dog. Sometimes it means sharing resources, transporting, fundraising, educating or simply helping someone find the right place to turn.
At the end of the day, the goal is simple: more dogs getting the help they need.
